The best time to call a biostatistician is before you start.
The second-best time? Right now, wherever you are in your research.
I’m Alex van Twisk, a biostatistician and PhD student at the MRC Biostatistics Unit, University of Cambridge. I take on a limited number of consulting projects alongside my research, working remotely with researchers in South Africa and the UK to get the statistics right, from study design through to publication.
Your research, your terms
Whether you need a hand with one piece of the puzzle or a partner for the whole journey, I’ll meet you where you are.
Study Design
Starting a new study or writing a proposal? This is the ideal time to get statistical input. Sample size calculations, randomisation strategies, and protocol stats sections.
Data Analysis
Already have data? I work with regression, survival analysis, mixed-effects models, complex survey designs, and more.
Reporting
Need publication-ready tables, figures, or a results section your reviewers will accept? I can help with that too.
